Licenses and Car Tax
1) Driving Licence
If you need a new style driving licence you will need a photograph but don’t worry, there are more than 700 Post Offices that offer this service. For just a small service charge, the Post Office will check your application form and documents and send it to the DVLA for processing.
2) International Driving Permit
In some countries when you hire a car you will need an International Driving permit in addition to your UK Driving Licence. If you need a UK International Driving permit, you can pick up an application form from your Post Office.
3) Car Tax
All cars and motorcycles driven on UK roads need to be taxed. The cost will depend on the engine size and / or carbon emissions depending on whether it is registered before or after 2001. You can choose to pay for 6 months or a full year’s tax. The Post Office sell £5 stamps to spread the cost if you need to do that.
4) Fishing Licence
The Post Office can sell you a fishing licence which you will need in order to fish in the rivers of the UK. The cost will depend on your age and the type of fish you want to catch.
