Passport Identity Checking Service

If you need to send certified copies of original documents, the Post Office is the place to go. Take both the original documents and your photocopies with you and they will check them. If you don’t have access to a photocopier, don’t worry because most Post Offices will be able to photocopy them for you for a few pounds.

Once they have checked that the photocopy and the original are identical they will certify them as being a true copy of the original and endorse them with their official stamp. The stamp says ‘this copy is a true likeness of the original’. They will date stamp them and sign them.
