Let’s clear up some definitions first.

a) Letter - < 24cms x 16.5cms < 5mm thick < 100gms
b) Large letter - < 35.3cmsx 25cms < 25mm thick < 750gms
c) Packet - < 61cms x 46 cms < 46mm thick < 750gms or <1000gms (second class)

Letters

a) Standard Letter

First class mail next working day (incl sat) 36p for up to 100gms. Second class mail by third working day 27p for up to 100gms

b) Urgent post

Your post is guaranteed delivery by 9am the next working day and for a small surcharge this would include Saturday. You can track your mail online and get electronic proof of delivery. You can pay for up to £2,500 compensation

c) Signed for

This is the service you need

  • If you need proof of posting
  • Signature on delivery
  • Compensation of up to £36

It costs from 72p extra on the standard cost of postage.

Parcels

a) Standard Parcels

The delivery of parcels that are not urgent costs from just £4.20 for 1kg. You can send parcels of up to 1.5m long and up to 20kg in weight. You get a free certificate of posting and compensation of up to £36 included in the postage price. If you need more cover then you can pay extra for up to £500 compensation. Delivery will be within 3 working days.

b) Urgent Parcels

If you need a parcel delivered by 9am the next day you need Special delivery. You will get online tracking and electronic proof of postage plus compensation of up to £2,500.
